Parish Priest of Banagher Fr. Kelly was concerned about the lack of play facilities for the children of Feeny and to this end the present field was purchased. Frank Mc Henry and Jimmy Hassan were approached by Fr. Kelly  outside the Chapel one Sunday and he suggested that the Club should erect goalposts in the field. Banagher had found a permanent home.
