FRANK MC HENRY STANDS DOWN
After nine consecutive years as Chairman from 1972 to 1980 inclusive and for one year in 1969, Banagher's longest serving Chairman stood down.He tirelessly gave of his services with teams at all levels;  and off the pitch as administrator or indeed with any task that required doing.

COUNTY HURLING CHAMPIONS
Banagher lifted  the County Hurling title without playing in a final as Dungiven failed to field against them. Banagher were denied the opportunity to represent Derry in the Ulster Club Championship as the Hurling Board had presumed that Dungiven would win and had already forwarded Dungiven's name to the Ulster Council!

TEAM NEWS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Reserve Team Manager  Dessie Mullan
As no senior team managers were agreed upon at the AGM it was decided to appoint a selection committee to oversee team affairs. The men charged with this task were Andy Lockhart, Gerry French and Henry Mc     Closkey. However all three resigned early in the season and Mickey Forester agreed to take over as Senior team manager.

BANAGHER REACH COUNTY FINAL
Banagher met Bellaghy in the semi-final of the Championship and were surprise winners when substitute Charlie O'Kane found the back of the net with minutes to go and Banagher found themselves in a County Final again. Ballinderry provided the opposition for the Final which was a poor affair with  only the closeness of the scores keeping the spectators on their toes. The game ended 0-7 to 0-5.
ANOTHER DR. KERLIN CUP
Banagher joined Ballerin as the only sides  to lift the Dr. Kerlin Cup four times in  a row when they defeated Faughanvale 3-11 to 3-5.
